Many of you may be wondering what purpose the ghetto serves and what sort of things go on here. I'll try to explain to the best of my ability.
The ghetto is an extremely tight knit community that was created 4 years ago. Many of it's members have been here since the beginning. In the ghetto's entire history only a handful of people have been banned. This is because it's members are very close friends, even considered family.
This is a place where topics with strong sexual content or extremely sensitive topics can be discussed, Where the members can get advice, support or just love. The ghetto is private for this reason. It's members aren't comfortable with the public viewing some of their most intimate thoughts and conversations. Plus, given the fact that 99% of the members are female, there is an alarmingly high number of menstrual topics, and really, who want's to read about that? lol
While an occassional bitch or rant post might crop up, this is NOT a trash talking forum. If a member here doesn't like someone else and has something negative to say to them, you can guarentee that the person in question already knows this. The vast majority of members here are bold and outspoken and have no problem voicing their opinions on public forums.
I'd also like to add that we don't all have the same opinions and ideas. We are from many different countries, cultures and upbringings. Although I technically own the board, I do not control it or the members. I simply provide the board and my friendship to them. So please don't let you're opinons of me color any opinions you might form about "ghetto ladies".
As these gals are honestly some of the most funny, intelligent, interesting and compassionate women (and men) I've ever encounterd.
We have been referred to as "the horde". I'd like to clarify that we are unified because for the past 3 years we have talked to eachother daily, we have laughed, ranted and cried together. Together we have rejoiced in births, mourned deaths, lite many a candle, sent up many a prayer and laughed at the silly mundane things that happen in our daily lives together.
It is impossible to go through those things and not become close. So if being this close to such wonderful people means that we're a "horde" then I'll wear the label proudly.
